Feb. 25, 2019 - The Whiting Board of Education unanimously approved longtime assistant and 1998 graduate Brett Jennings, as the 11th head football coach in Whiting history.
Jennings started his coaching career at Whiting as a volunteer during the 2002 and 2003 seasons. He was hired full time in 2004 as the offensive line coach. In 2013, Jennings was promoted to defensive coordinator.
Brett is a 1998 graduate of Whiting High School where he was a two-year letter winner for the Oilers. During that time, Whiting won two sectional championships (1996 & 1997) and 1 regional championship (1996). He was a 2002 graduate of Aurora University in elementary education and was a four-year football letter winner for the Spartans. In his time at Aurora, the Spartans posted a 27-1 conference record with a NCAA D3 playoff birth in 2000.
Brett is married to his wife Stephanie and recently had their first child Henry in January.
